Art with mrs. shepherd
Hello! My name is Mrs. Shepherd and am an art specialist at Banting. Before I came to Banting, I taught art at Summit View Elementary for 12 years. And before that, I worked at Waukesha South High School for 8 years in the art department and in the T.R.Y. program for at-risk students. My first teaching position was at Catholic Memorial High School, teaching art for an additional 8 years.
I attended college in Milwaukee at Mount Mary College, with a bachelor's degree in art education, plus two years of interior design courses. I earned my master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Carroll College here in Waukesha.
Mr. Shepherd and I have two children, a daughter named Jenna that is 25 and a son named Tanner that is 20. We have a giant German Shepherd named Ted. We also used to have two goats and two sheep when we lived on our farm, but just recently built a new house.

I enjoy playing and coaching volleyball, gardening, antiquing, hiking, traveling, and of course creating art of all types! My most exciting trip was to China with my daughter in 2009. My favorite book is entitled Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg and is a story of how it is o.k. to make mistakes in art, and how they can become something wonderful. I can't wait to share it with my students and am very happy to be teaching at Banting! If you have any questions or concerns, please call (262)970-2656.
